Purpose
Inspiring & Empowering Our Community Nourish Up provides nutritious groceries and healthy meals to our neighbors in Mecklenburg County. Our programs offer access to groceries through the largest network of food pantries in North Carolina, grocery home delivery, and pop-up food shares. Each weekday, our Meals on Wheels program delivers a mid-day meal to anyone who can’t prepare a meal for themselves. Nourish Up (formerly Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays) nourishes our neighbors with food and compassion, providing groceries, meals and hope through a network of 35+ food pantries, grocery home delivery and as the primary Meals on Wheels program for Mecklenburg County. In 2024, Nourish Up provided groceries to 164,608 people – the highest in our 50-year history. Volunteer Information
Our passionate army of volunteers dedicates their time and efforts to ensure our neighbors receive nutritious food. We rely on families, individuals, and groups to help make our work possible. With various opportunities to get involved, you can find an experience to give your time in a meaningful way. You must be 13 years old or older to volunteer in our warehouse. Kids can assist their parents with grocery or meal deliveries at any age. Also, creating little notes or cards to add to our grocery boxes and meals is a great way to brighten someone’s day when they receive food.
